7 arrested for corporate piracy

Customs & Excise Department

Customs officers have arrested seven people in an anti-corporate piracy operation, seizing 72 computers installed with infringing software worth $300,000.

 

Officers raided four companies in Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsuen Wan and Kwai Chung September 3 to 5.

 

Five men and two women, aged 25 to 63, were arrested. They included three people in charge of the companies and four staff. They have been released on bail pending further investigations.
