172 fined for traffic violations

Hong Kong Police

The Police have issued 172 fixed-penalty tickets and 163 summonses to motorists and pedestrians who violated traffic regulations during a Kowloon East crackdown yesterday.

 

Another 171 fixed-penalty tickets were issued for illegal parking and other parking offences, while 257 pedestrians and 38 drivers were verbally warned for jaywalking and other minor traffic offences.

 

Traffic Police were sent to traffic accident blacksites and potential traffic accident locations in Kowloon East region. Officers also distributed pamphlets on road safety.

 

Up to May, there were 822 traffic accidents in the region.
