*
Hong Kong Police

Police officers issued 393 fixed-penalty tickets and 41 summonses to road users violating traffic regulations during a two-day crackdown on Hong Kong Island.

The 178 officers sent to traffic black sites handed out 254 tickets for illegal parking. They also cautioned 46 pedestrians and 186 drivers for committing minor offences, and distributed road-safety leaflets.

From January to May, there were 1,308 traffic accidents involving casualties on Hong Kong Island, and about 58% of them were attributed to pedestrian negligence.
