Resident arrested over elderly home death
*
Hong Kong Police

Police have arrested a 75-year-old resident of a Wan Chai elderly home in connection with the death of a 78-year-old woman who also lived there.

At about 11.20 last night, Police received a report from the seniors' home, at 18 Johnston Road, that the man had attacked the woman.

Officers found the woman lying unconscious on a bed with head injuries. She was sent to Ruttonjee Hospital and was later certified dead.

The man had allegedly attacked her with a chair. He is being detained for questioning.

A post-mortem will be conducted, and Police are investigating the motive for the attack.
