New envoy: Entertainer Richie Yam is appointed Rehabilitation Ambassador by Commissioner of Correctional Services Kwok Leung-ming.

*

The Correctional Services Department has appointed pop star Richie Yam its new Rehabilitation Ambassador. It will launch a series of publicity activities to improve public acceptance of rehabilitated offenders.

Commissioner of Correctional Services Kwok Leung-ming today said television and radio announcements will be broadcast in September, calling on people to accept rehabilitated people, and to give them support and strength to lead a law-abiding life.

Posters and banners will be displayed on buses, minibuses and a department lorry.

With the department's Rehabilitation Division approaching its 10th anniversary in January, more publicity events will be rolled out in the coming months, including a rehabilitation fair, a symposium on employment for rehabilitated offenders, and a workshop on assessment and treatment of violent offenders.
