Hong Kong Police

Police are investigating a Tsing Yi traffic accident in which a 23-year-old man was killed and another 23-year-old man was injured.

At about 11.40pm last night, a 43-year-old man was driving a bus along Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road northbound. When the bus stopped at a traffic light near Chung Mei Road, a private car driven by the 23-year-old man reportedly crashed into the bus from behind.

The car's driver and passenger were trapped inside. Firefighters rescued them and they were sent to Princess Margaret Hospital where the driver was certified dead.

New Territories South special traffic investigation team is following up. People who have information to offer should call 3661 1300.
