Police will launch a three-week citywide campaign tomorrow to promote transport safety as the new school year approaches.
Police Road Safety Teams will distribute publicity leaflets to school bus and nanny-van drivers, teachers and parents to draw their attention to road safety for school children. They will also visit schools to give talks on school bus safety.
According to the School Transport Safety Rules, school bus or nanny-van drivers must ensure passenger safety.
Fifty passengers were injured in 25 school bus accidents in the first half of the year.
