Driver arrested after fatal accident
*
Hong Kong Police

A 28-year-old man has been arrested for dangerous driving after his truck hit and killed a 43-year-old Caritas Medical Centre nurse in Kwai Chung today.

The truck rolled on its side at the junction of Tai Wo Hau Road and Shek Tau Street about 12.45pm, trapping the pedestrian under it. She was certified dead at Princess Margaret Hospital at 2.30pm. She had been conducting outreach services at the time.

Extending their condolences to her family, Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Dr York Chow and Hospital Authority Chief Executive Shane Solomon said it was a tragic loss of a devoted member of the palliative care nursing team. Human resources staff will assist her family.

Police urge witnesses of the accident to call investigators on 2611 3271 or 2611 3200.
