93 tickets issued in traffic day blitz

Police issued 93 fixed-penalty tickets and 145 summonses to motorists and pedestrians violating traffic regulations during the Kowloon East regional traffic day.

 

The operation, concluding at 11pm yesterday, saw 264 officers enforce traffic laws at accident blackspots in the region.They gave verbal warnings to 154 pedestrians and drivers for jaywalking and other minor offences, and issued 83 fixed-penalty tickets for illegal parking and other misdemeanours.

 

There were 953 traffic accidents in Kowloon East Region from January to May.
