Customs raid pirated disc shops, karaokes

Switched off: Audio and video equipment is seized from a karaoke lounge.

Customs have arrested 27 people and seized karaoke equipment, including 31,000 pirated discs and 38 sets of computers with music video files and a batch of audio visual equipment.

 

Pirated disc shops and karaoke outlets were raided in North Point, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon City, Tsuen Wan, Yau Ma Tei, Mong Kok, Sham Shui Po, Tuen Mun and Tai Po.

 

The 19 men and eight women arrested were aged 21 to 58.
