A DVD of television docu-drama The Road Back IV, jointly produced by the Correctional Services Department and Radio Television Hong Kong, will be distributed to Correctional Services Museum visitors free from February 13 on a first-come-first-served basis.
The well-received six-episode series aired from May to July last year. It was based on real stories, portraying how offenders underwent rehabilitation. These real characters also appeared in the drama to unveil their past experiences.
The department has produced 10,000 copies of the DVD in Cantonese with Chinese and English subtitles. They will be distributed to schools, youth organisations and community groups to help prevent juvenile delinquency by enhancing young people's insight into the consequences of crime.
Two thousand copies will be available for museum visitors. People can also request a copy of the DVD by mailing the department at 27/F, Wanchai Tower, 12 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, with a self-addressed envelope measuring 180mm x 240mm and affixed with a $4 stamp enclosed, by March 31. They should mark on the envelope "Request for The Road Back DVD". For enquiries, call 2582 5555.
The museum, at 45 Tung Tau Wan Road, Stanley, is open from 10am to 5pm Tuesdays to Sundays and admission is free. It is closed on Mondays and public holidays. It is accessible by bus routes 6, 6X, 63, 73, 260 and 973, as well as green minibus routes 40 and 52.
