Police investigate Sai Kung woman's death
*
Hong Kong Police

Police are investigating a murder and attempted suicide case in which a 46-year-old woman died in Sai Kung last night.

At about 7pm, the woman's daughter called Police to say she had been found hanging from a tree behind a wooden hut in Shui Hau Village.

Police found the woman unconscious on the ground, and ambulance attendants certified her dead.

They learned the woman and her 51-year-old husband had attempted to commit suicide by taking pills and drinking alcohol in the hut earlier in the evening. The woman then hung herself behind their home.

The husband later found and released her, and called their 25-year-old daughter for help.

Police arrested the man for suspected murder and sent him to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine how the woman died. The Wong Tai Sin District Crime Squad is investigating.
