2 dead in road accidents

An 88-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were killed in road accidents in Western and in Tung Chung today.

 

The man reportedly tripped and hit his head on the ground, trying to avoid oncoming traffic while crossing Queen's Road West. He was taken to Queen Mary Hospital where he was certified dead at 11.49am.

 

Witnesses of the unusual case should call Police on 3106 8800.

 

Meanwhile, the woman was struck and killed by a lorry about 1pm, while it was reversing in Fu Tung Estate Market's loading area. She was certified dead at Princess Margaret Hospital at 1.25pm.

 

Witnesses should call Police on 3661 1300 or 3661 1348.
