Scrap paper: Some of the 440 infringing photocopies of books seized by Customs.

*

Customs officers have arrested two men and a woman for illegally copying books, seizing 440 infringing photocopies and two copy machines valued at about $170,000.

Officers raided two shops in Tseung Kwan O and a shop in North Point yesterday after receiving a complaint from a copyright owner. Two men, aged 26 and 62, and a 49-year-old woman were arrested.

Customs reminds the public, particularly shop owners and staff of photocopying shops, not to illegally copy books. The crime can be reported by calling 2545 6182.
