337 unbuckled passengers summonsed
*
Hong Kong Police

Police have warned 113 public light bus passengers and issued 337 summonses for seat belt offences in a city-wide operation.

The 24-hour operation, ended at 8am today, also saw one public light bus driver warned and five fixed-penalty tickets issued.

In the first half of this year, there were 533 traffic accidents involving public light buses, resulting in 835 casualties. These compare with 541 traffic accidents and 839 casualties in the same period last year.

The Policewill continue to use a three-pronged approach - education, publicity and enforcement - to enhance road safety.
