Close ties key to fighting terrorism: Lee
*
Ambrose Lee visits Singapore Civil Defence Force
In command: Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee visits the Singapore Civil Defence Force's command room.
*

Fighting international terrorism is a long and difficult battle that requires the close liaison and co-operation of law-enforcement agencies across the world, Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee says.

Mr Lee today started the last leg of his overseas visits in Singapore, meeting Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Wong Kan Seng.

They exchanged views on law and order issues of common concern to Hong Kong and Singapore, including efforts to combat terrorism in the wake of the latest terror attack attempt.

Mr Lee later visited the Singapore Civil Defence Force whose main role is to provide fire fighting, rescue and emergency ambulance services, and formulate, implement and enforce regulations on fire safety and civil emergency matters.

Earlier, Mr Lee visited the Singapore National Security Co-ordination Secretariat and was briefed on its tasks and responsibilities of planning and co-ordinating policy issues concerning national security.
