6 Filipinos jailed for illegal work
*
Immigration Department

A Filipino man and his five employees have been jailed by Sha Tin Magistracy for immigration and employment offences.

Tambol Polked Dagdagen Dupagan, 26, was jailed nine months for breaching his condition of stay and employing illegal workers. The two men and three women, all Filipinos employed by him, were jailed for two months. They are Kenny Kurth Pandosen, 24, Robert Leight Lardizabal, 31, Agnes Utang Malidom, 23, Narcisa Ngawit Monis, 28, and Elena Lawagan Madkil, 41.

Immigration officers raided a Kwai Chung industrial building in May, and found the six sorting second-hand shoes in a unit.

Dupagan admitted he was setting up a recycling business in Hong Kong. He had rented the unit to collect second-hand clothes and shoes for resale in the Philippines, and recruited the five to assist.
