Imposter father jailed 9 months
*
Immigration Department

A 45-year-old man has been jailed nine months by Sha Tin Magistracy for conspiracy to defraud the Immigration Department.

In 1990 Sung Wai-lok falsely married his employer's mistress to facilitate the household registration of his boss' illegitimate son on the Mainland.

In 1994 she got pregnant again and overstayed in Hong Kong for confinement. On his boss' request, the defendant posed as the woman's husband again to have her bailed out. The defendant was asked to pose as the new baby's natural father for the birth registration.
