Man dies in Tsuen Wan park chop attack

A 58-year-old man died after he was attacked in Tak Wah Park in Tsuen Wan Market Street in Tsuen Wan.

 

His attacker, who was armed with a two-foot-long knife, is about 60 years old, about 1.6 metres tall, and of medium build. He was wearing a light coloured, short-sleeved checkered shirt, a pair of dark trousers, and carrying a dark coloured bag. He fled in the direction of Tak Wah Street direction immediately after the incident.

 

Police received a report of the attack at about 2.30 pm yesterday. They sent the victime to Yan Chai Hospital where he was certified dead at 12:12am today.

 

A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

 

The Tsuen Wan District crime squad is following up. Police urge anyone who saw the attack or can offer information to contact investigating officers on 2417 5200 or 2417 5363.
