Demolition of illegal structure ordered

*
Housing Department

The Housing Department has ordered the owner of a Yuen Long land lot to demolish an unauthorised structure by November 10.

The move comes in the wake of the Ombudsman's probe into the handling of the case.

Since the owner has withdrawn an application to the Town Planning Board for a change of land use, and the Lands Department has issued a statutory notice for the structure's demolition, the departments have agreed on a detailed action plan to take enforcement action against the structure.

Both accept the Ombudsman's suggestions they should actively deliberate and take measures to speed up action against unauthorised structures in future.
