New clearance system launches smoothly
*
Green Channel
New system: The Red & Green Channel System, a new customs clearance system, has launched smoothly at all control points.
*

Customs' new Red & Green Channel System has launched smoothly at all sea, land and air control points.

Customs Head of Control Points Command Ko Chi-lok said most passengers were familiar with the declaration procedure and adapted easily to the new system.

More than 90% of arriving passengers went through the Green Channel. To guard against abuse, Customs officers will take passengers, based on risk management, for baggage examination.

Details of the system, duty-free concessions and the list of common prohibited or controlled goods, are available here. For enquiries call the Customs hotline 2815 7711.
