People should avoid fraudulent website www.swissfirstonline.com operated by a "Swissfirst Asia".

The Monetary Authority says Swissfirst Asia is not authorised to conduct banking business or take deposits in Hong Kong, nor does it have approval to establish a local representative office.

The case has been referred to Police for investigation. People who have made financial transactions through or provided personal information to the website should call the Commercial Crime Bureau on 2860 5012.

People should verify the status of any organisation making use of the Internet to solicit deposits. Click here to read a list of authorised institutions or call the authority's hotline 2878 8222.
