Police are seeking information on a boy who was abandoned in Western District.

On Monday, at about 4.35pm, a nurse found the boy outside The Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital, at 12 Sandy Bay Road. She called the Police.

The boy had no identity documents on him. He is about four years old, stands about one metre and weighs about 20 kilograms. His black hair is short and straight, and he has a  pointed face and is thin.

He was wearing a white, red and black sweater, a pair of black shorts and a pair of sports shoes.

Police urge anyone who has information on his identity or the whereabouts of his next-of-kin to contact Western Division at 2859 4251 or 2859 4257.
