Hong Kong Police

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted murder in Sham Shui Po on June 20.

Police received a report about 10.30pm that someone shouted for help inside a park between Cheung Sha Wan Path and Sham Shui Po Sports Ground. Officers found a 24-year-old Nepalese woman with head injuries and a Nepalese man was chasing her.

The 23-year-old man was arrested and the woman sent to Caritas Medical Centre.

The pair had had a dispute, and during the scuffle he allegedly tried to strangle the woman with a rope and hit her head against the ground repeatedly.

Police have charged him with wounding with intent to murder. He will appear in Kowloon City Magistracy on June 23.

Anyone with information should call Police on 2746 3454.
