Tsunami death toll hits 20
*

One more missing Hong Kong resident has been confirmed dead in last December's tsunami, through Thailand's victim identification process. This brings the total Hong Kong dead in the tragedy to 20, the Security Bureau says.

Twenty Hong Kong residents remain unlocated, all reported to have been in Thailand. The Government will pursue these cases and provide practical assistance to Hong Kong residents and their families where necessary.

Police have contacted relatives of missing Hong Kong residents to collect DNA samples for analysis on a voluntary basis. Analysed DNA information and fingerprint records have been sent to Thailand for identification.

Hong Kong residents can call the Immigration Department hotline 2829 3010 for assistance.
