Police arrested in ICAC sting
*
ICAC

Two police officers and 10 others have been arrested for alleged corruption and inaction against a wanted person.

The Independent Commission Against Corruption said they are a Detective Senior Police Inspector and a Detective Police Constable, plus six suspected triad members and four cruise liner staff.

The arrested officers allegedly accepted advantages from the suspected triads. In return, they allegedly provided assistance and attempted to frustrate a number of Police cases against them or their associates.

One of the triad suspects, wanted for his alleged involvement in assault and criminal damage cases, was hiding on the cruise liner to avoid apprehension. Its staff allegedly helped harbour him.

The investigation continues.
