Twenty-six people have been arrested in anti-illegal worker raids on four Ta Kwu Ling computer-recycling factories.
Twenty-three men and two women, aged 25 to 48, were arrested for breaching conditions of stay. Apart from three Bangladeshi males, the rest were Mainlanders mostly from Guangdong and Hubei. One Hong Kong man, 54, was arrested for employing the illegal workers.
Environmental Protection Department officers also examined the sites and collected samples of broken cathode ray tubes and printed circuit board fragments to check for hazardous chemicals.
