Woman dies in Western District traffic accident

A 40-year-old woman was killed in a traffic accident in Western District early this morning.

 

At about 1.30am, a public light bus driven by a 72-year-old man was travelling westbound along Pokfulam Road. It reportedly knocked down a 40-year-old woman who was crossing the road near the junction with Pokfield Road.

 

She was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital with serious head injuries, and certified dead at 1.50am.

 

The bus driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.

 

Hong Kong Island's Special Investigation Team for Traffic is following up.

 

Anyone who might have witnessed the accident is urged to contact the investigating officers at 3106 8848.
