Police net 261 women in joint anti-vice operation

*
Hong Kong Police

Police and Immigration Department officials arrested 261 women during a joint anti-vice operation in Kowloon West that ended last night.

Police officers from the Kowloon West Region, Mong Kok, Yau Tsim, Kowloon City and Sham Shui Po Districts, together with officers of the Immigration staff, raided 80 locations in the region during the operation that began at 3.30am yesterday.

A total of 261 women aged between 16 and 52 - including 256 two-way permit holders, four Chinese passport holders and a Vietnamese - were arrested for breaching conditions of stay.

All of them will be handed over to the Immigration Department for follow-up actions.

The officers also removed 79 vice signboards in the sting operation, which ended at 10.45pm.

The Police will conduct similar operations on a regular basis to stem vice-related activities.
