Alert issued on dangerous dehumidifiers
*

The Electrical & Mechanical Services Department today urged consumers to stop using Whirlpool dehumidifier models SS20, SS205 and SS206 with serial numbers between CNNO40300000 and CNNO64199999.

These dehumidifiers, sold in Hong Kong January 2004 to December 2006, can overheat during prolonged operation, posing a potential short-circuit risk.

Whirlpool will offer free maintenance and post safety notices in newspapers today and tomorrow.

Consumers can call the company's hotline 2610 1396 from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday or visit their website.
