33 building plans approved in June

Buildings Department

The Buildings Department approved 33 building plans in June - 16 on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories. The declared cost of the new buildings completed in June totalled about $1.9 billion.

 

Eleven of the approved plans were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, 11 were for commercial developments, five were for factory and industrial developments, and six were for community-services developments.

 

The department also gave consent for work to start on 16 building projects that, when completed, will provide 141,456 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,882 units, and 105,369 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

 

The department received notification of commencement of work for 10 building projects in June, and issued eight occupation permits - one on Hong Kong Island, one in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.

 

Of the buildings certified for occupation, there were 57,008 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving 184 units, and 89,066 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

The department also issued 12 demolition consents involving 12 building structures.

 

It received 2,198 complaints against unauthorised building works in June, and issued 2,632 removal orders on unauthorised works.
