The Transport Department invites tenders for telecommunication services for an area traffic control system for Kowloon, Tsuen Wan, Sha Tin and Tseung Kwan O.

The contractor must provide a telecom network for the connection of about 200 traffic signal controllers to the area traffic control centre and the subsequent leasing of the telecom services for a period of five years.

The project includes design, supply, installation, commissioning of the network and associated civil works.

The works will start in November for commissioning in April 2011, and for completion of the whole contract in April 2016.

Tenders should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box in the lift lobby on the lower ground floor of the Central Government Offices (East Wing) by noon on September 12.

Delcan International Corporation has been appointed to supervise the project's implementation.
