Lau Fau Shan drainage upgrade proposed
*

Ancillary road works to Hang Hau Tsuen Channel in Lau Fau Shan will start at the end of 2009 for completion in 2012 as part of a drainage upgrade project to ease flooding, the Transport & Housing Bureau says.

The proposed works include a 400-metre drainage channel and a carriageway with associated maintenance access ramp, footpaths and a car park; and four footbridges across the Hang Hau Tsuen Channel. Water pipe laying and drainage works will be carried out while retaining walls will be built.

Existing footbridges will be closed and demolished. Part of the existing footpaths and tracks will also closed. During construction pedestrian access will be maintained.

The public can inspect the plan and scheme at Central & Western and Yuen Long District Offices, and Yuen Long District Lands Office. Objections should reach the bureau by September 9.
