Gov't to boost logistics industry

Francis Ho
Super centre: Permanent Secretary for Transport & Housing (Transport) Francis Ho addresses the Hong Kong as a Preferred Logistics Hub: User Survey-and-Strategic Forum.
*

Permanent Secretary for Transport & Housing (Transport) Francis Ho has pledged the Government will continue providing an enabling business environment for the logistics industry, taking forward projects like the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and the Guangdong-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link.

He said the wide adoption of e-logistics solutions will also be encouraged, such as radio frequency identification and global positioning systems, and the training to groom industry talent.

"The Government will count on the constructive partnerships with the private sector, industry players and professional bodies in charting the future development of our logistics sector," Mr Ho said.

He made the remarks today at a strategic forum which is part of the Hong Kong as a Preferred Logistics Hub: User Survey-and-Strategic Forum research project jointly organised by the Trade Development Council and the Logistics Development Council.

The project also comprises an opinion survey to get the logistics industry's perception of its development.
