The Hong Kong and Shenzhen governments have signed the Shenzhen Bay Port co-location arrangement. The deal covers the use land in the Hong Kong Port Area and the co-operation framework and implementation details of Shenzhen Bay Port.

Chief Secretary for Administration Rafael Hui thanked the Central, Guangdong and Shenzhen governments for making the pact possible.

"The co-location arrangement at the Shenzhen Bay Port is the first of its kind to be implemented at control points between Hong Kong and the Mainland. It fulfils the spirit of the One Country, Two Systems principle, and fully reflects its creativity and flexibility," Mr Hui said.

Secretary and Deputy Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee and Grace Lui represented the Hong Kong Government in signing the agreements today, along with Deputy Secretary for the Environment, Transport & Works Philip Yung.

Shenzhen Bay Port will open July 1.
