Traffic task force invites views
*

The Task Force to review and recommend enhancement measures for emergency transport coordination will submit a report to Secretary for the Environment, Transport & Works Dr Sarah Liao by the end of June. Views from the public are welcome.

Transport Advisory Committee Chairman Teresa Cheng leads the task force, which was appointed by Dr Liao. Other members are Herbert Hui, a senior corporate executive with extensive experience in public service, and Prof Lo Hong-kam of The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.

The task force will examine the crisis-management mechanism, internal coordination to expedite immediate remedial works, congestion relief measures, and dissemination of information to the public, with a view to facilitating better handling of similar unforeseen emergency situations with substantial traffic impacts in future.

Views and suggestions to the Secretariat are welcome. Send a fax to 2104 7274 or e-mail taskforce@etwb.gov.hk before June 2.
