Sai Kung piers to be rebuilt
*

The Government plans to reconstruct the Ko Lau Wan Public Pier and Wong Shek Public Pier in Sai Kung North.

Both works are scheduled to start in October 2004 for completion by October 2006.

Two notices concerning the reconstruction works were gazetted today.

Both piers are in a deteriorating condition and the reconstruction will enhance their appearance and provide attractive focal points in the area.

The works will affect about 2,280 square metres of foreshore and seabed at Ko Lau Wan and 2,320 square metres of foreshore and seabed at Wong Ma Tei, Sai Kung North.

The notices and plans can be seen on notice boards near the sites.

The plans are also available for public inspection at the Lands Department's Survey and Mapping Office, 23/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point; and the Tai Po District Office, G/F, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po.

The public can send written submissions regarding the works to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices by October 8.
