Views sought on Tseung Kwan O plans
*
Territory Development Department

The Territory Development Department has begun a series of consultations to canvass public views on the further development of Tseung Kwan O to make it more convenient and vibrant.

The department said a study on the new town's development started last July, and the public views, particularly those of local residents, were of paramount importance to it.

The study is to formulate a comprehensive plan to further develop Tseung Kwan O with a vision of turning it into a convenient and vibrant new town with a distinctive urban design and quality living environment.

Meanwhile, after taking account of the public views collected in the stage one public consultation last year, various development themes for Tseung Kwan O Town Centre South and Pak Shing Kok have been formulated. They will be presented to the public through the consultation.

The consultation with the Legislative Council Panel on Planning, Lands & Works, was held today. The Sai Kung District Council will be consulted on May 7.

A public forum will be held at 8pm on May 9 at Leung Sing Tak Primary School, Hang Hau, followed by a series of consultations with the Town Planning Board, green groups, professional institutes and Tseung Kwan O area committees.

For more details on the proposed development plans, please visit the Territory Development Department website.
