Shenzhen Western Corridor

Quick link: Works on the Shenzhen Western Corridor's Hong Kong section will start in August this year for completion in October, 2005.

*

The Highways Department will start work on the Shenzhen Western Corridor in August to relieve traffic congestion at boundary crossings.

The works cover the construction of the Hong Kong section, a 3.5-km long carriageway with three traffic lanes in each direction.

It will connect the proposed Deep Bay Link at Ngau Hom Shek to the Shenzhen section of the Corridor over Deep Bay.

When completed in October 2005, the Corridor will be Hong Kong's fourth road boundary crossing.

Pre-qualified bidders are being invited to submit tenders for the construction works. The deadline for submissions is May 30.
