Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection urges people to maintain strict personal and environmental hygiene to prevent hand, foot and mouth disease after a Tai Po kindergarten reported an outbreak affecting 21 children.

The 14 boys and seven girls, aged three to five, came down with oral ulcers, a fever and rash on their hands or feet from April 26. All have seen doctors and are stable. One child tested positive for group A Coxsackie virus.

The institution has been put under medical surveillance.
