Painkiller Tylenol recalled

*
Tylenol Extended Relief Tab 650mg
Safety alert: Tylenol Extended Relief Tab 650mg has been sold in unregistered packages. People should stop using it.
*

Jacobson Medical (Hong Kong) is recalling Tylenol Extended Relief Tab 650mg as the painkiller has been sold in unregistered packages, the Department of Health said today.

The over-the-counter drug, with registration number HK-42812, has been imported from the Mainland since January.

The department's investigation found the company has sold the product in unapproved sales packages with unapproved label information to pharmacies, medicine shops and a supermarket chain .

There was no immediate safety or quality concern with the use of the product, the department said, but healthcare professionals should stop prescribing it and people should stop taking it.

Jacobson Medical has set up an enquiry hotline, 2596 1821.
