Music Office recruits young musicians

*
Leisure & Cultural Services Department

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department's Music Office is recruiting new members for its 16 bands and orchestras and two choirs for training from September to May 2010.

Young musicians aged 25 or under who have attained the required musical standard can apply. The deadline is May 17.

Those selected will be able to enhance their music skills, and may join cultural activities and concerts and broaden their horizons by teaming up with Mainland and overseas musicians.

Training is free, but members should bring their own instruments - except for bulky ones - to rehearsals and performances and pay for their own uniforms and music scores.

Click here for leaflets and application forms. Qualified applicants will be invited to attend auditions in June or July for tests on scales, sight-reading or sight-singing and the performance of a self-chosen work. They will be notified of the results by late August.
