Xinjiang woman dies of H5N1

Centre for Health Protection

The Ministry of Health today notified the Centre for Health Protection that a 31-year-old woman in Urumqi had died of avian influenza H5N1.

 

The woman developed symptoms on January 10 and died yesterday. She had visited a live poultry market before the onset of symptoms.

 

Chinese Centre for Diseases Control & Prevention tests of the woman were H5N1 positive.
