Help sent to flood-hit Tai O residents
*
Home Affairs Department

The Islands District Office is co-ordinating government and community help for Tai O residents affected by flooding caused by Typhoon Hagupit.

The Civil Aid Service helped residents clear sand and mud from their houses today, while the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department removed debris and rubbish on the streets.

A temporary shelter has been made available. Disciplined forces volunteers will go to Tai O tomorrow to provide further help.

While electricity has generally been restored, action has been taken by the district office and the power company to help households still affected.

Affected residents with financial difficulties can apply for emergency relief funds.
