Woman ill with Dengue fever
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed the year's 17th imported case of Dengue fever involving a 34-year-old woman who travelled to the Philippines July 9 to 21.

She came down with a fever and rash July 21 and was admitted to Queen Mary Hospital July 25. She is in stable condition.

There were 58 imported Dengue fever cases last year. People should stay alert and help prevent mosquito breeding. Travellers should take preventive measures against the disease and consult doctors quickly if feeling unwell after returning from a trip.

Click here for more preventive tips, or visit the Travel Health Service website for more information.
