Man ill with Legionnaires' disease
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating the year's first Legionnaires' disease case involving a 49-year-old man.

He developed cough, shortness of breath and fever on April 12. He was admitted to Queen Mary Hospital on April 15 and is in stable condition.

He has no history of travel during the incubation period and his family members have no symptoms.

There were 11 Legionnaires' cases reported last year, with 16 in 2006. For more information on the disease and prevention tips, click here.
