*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating an acute gastroenteritis outbreak involving 25 residents and two staff at a Yuen Long elderly home.

Six men and 21 women, aged 45 to 101, came down with diarrhoea and vomiting February 16 to 21. Nineteen consulted outpatient clinics and private doctors. Three were admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital while one was admitted to Pok Oi Hospital. All are stable.

The centre has visited the home and provided health instructions to its staff. The centre will closely monitor the facility.
