The Centre for Health Protection is investigating an acute gastroenteritis outbreak involving 20 residents in a Tai Po elderly home.
Two men and 18 women, aged 64 to 96, came down with diarrhoea and vomiting January 1 to 8. All consulted doctors arranged by the elderly home, and two sought treatment at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole and Prince of Wales Hospitals. All are stable.
The centre has visited the elderly home and provided health instructions to its staff. The centre will closely monitor the facility.
