AFCD culling exercise
Bio security: Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department staff take part in the bird flu drill.
*

The Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department held an exercise today to ensure its preparedness should culling be needed at local poultry farms.

The drill featured a scenario for staff to get familiarised with preparation procedures and biosecurity measures for conducting the operation, such as wearing and removing protective gear, disinfection and disposal of carcasses. About 110 people took part.

A field command centre and two mock chicken farms were erected for frontline duties like mobilising staff and resources, setting up operation areas and practising personal biosecurity when entering and leaving the farm.
