Sept 28 next poultry rest day
*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

Retailers and the public are reminded that the next rest day for poultry outlets is September 28.

Operators of market stalls and fresh provision shops must slaughter all remaining live poultry by the rest day and suspend business for thorough cleaning and disinfection on that day.

They must not remove any unsold live poultry from their premises to avoid slaughtering them before the start of the rest day.

Food & Environmental Hygiene officers will inspect the poultry outlets on the day. Failure to comply with the rest-day conditions will lead to immediate cancellation of fresh provision shop licences or termination of market stall tenancies.
